Just before you say Flip Video will dominate the compact camera market, JVC attempts to grab a slice of the market pie with the Picsio GC-FM1 pocket video camera. It has an 8-megapixel still camera with 3264 x 2448 resolution, a 2.03-megapixel video camera with 1080p resolution, 2-inch LCD, and HDMI out. The camera can store data on SD and SDHC cards in MPEG-4 file format (if video file).
This compact camera will be available in Japan by the end of September and is predicted to cost around 20,000 yen (about US$220).
